This left-side coulter blade is the cutting component that opens the seed furrow ahead of the seed tube on a mounted plow. It mounts to the plow frame via two bolts and works in conjunction with the corresponding right-side coulter to create a clean, consistent slot for seed placement. Wear on the cutting edge increases draft force and produces an irregular furrow wall, which can cause uneven seed depth. The blade is machined to match the original mounting geometry so no additional shimming or bracket modification is needed during replacement.
