This eccentric drive component transmits rotational motion from the cleaning-shoe drive to the seed-metering mechanism on the parent combine. It is located in the cleaning drive system and converts the rotary input into the oscillating or indexing motion that the metering assembly requires to deliver seed at a consistent rate. Wear on the eccentric surface or its bearing interface causes irregular metering, leading to uneven seed flow and poor crop placement in the field. The manufacturer machines this part to match the original eccentric profile and shaft bore, so it maintains the correct throw and timing relationship with the downstream metering components. On installation, inspect the mating bearing and replace it if worn to avoid accelerated wear on the new eccentric.
