This hydraulic valve controls the rotation speed of the variator in the threshing unit of a self-propelled forage harvester or combine. It meters oil flow to the variator actuator, which adjusts the drive ratio of the threshing mechanism. A worn or leaking valve causes inconsistent rotor speed, leading to uneven crop feed and reduced threshing efficiency. The valve is machined to the original thread pitch so it seats correctly in the housing without additional adapters. On reinstallation, ensure the mating surfaces are clean and the valve is torqued to specification.
