This rubber overload clutch is a torque-limiting coupling installed in the drive system of the parent combine or self-propelled forage harvester. It connects the driveline to the driven component and slips when torque exceeds a preset threshold, protecting downstream shafts and gearboxes from shock loads. A worn or failed clutch will no longer slip at the correct torque, leading to sudden driveline lock-up or, conversely, continuous slip that prevents power transmission. The manufacturer, JAG, produces this replacement to match the original rubber element’s torsional stiffness and the mounting-hole pattern of the original assembly, so no adapter plates or shimming are required. On reinstallation, inspect the mating flanges for distortion and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
