This ball-joint connector links the cutterbar drive to the header driveline on a combine harvester. It transmits oscillating motion from the wobble box to the knife head, converting rotary input into the reciprocating stroke that drives the sickle sections. The set includes two bearing shells, two grease nipples, and the full complement of mounting bolts needed for installation. A worn connector introduces play in the linkage, which reduces knife stroke length and leads to uneven crop cutting. The manufacturer machines the ball socket to the same clearance as the original assembly so that the joint maintains proper angular articulation without excessive free play. On reinstall, torque the retaining bolts to specification and apply grease through the nipples until fresh grease exits the seal.
