This shaft transmits rotational drive from the threshing-unit output to the straw-chopper rotor. It sits between the gearbox and the chopper drum, synchronizing the drum speed with the rest of the harvesting system. A worn or bent shaft causes vibration in the chopper assembly and can lead to premature bearing failure on the drum. The manufacturer machines this shaft to match the original spline and bearing-seat geometry, so the existing couplings and bearings align without modification. On installation, verify the shaft rotates freely in its supports before coupling the drive.
