This sharpening stone is mounted on the forage harvester to dress the cutterhead blades during operation. It contacts the rotating blade edge at a controlled angle to restore the cutting geometry without removing the blade assembly. The stone wears progressively as it sharpens, and a worn stone produces a dull cut that increases fuel consumption and reduces throughput. The manufacturer machines this stone to the same profile and hardness as the original assembly so it maintains the correct contact pressure against the blade without requiring shimming.
