This clutch pressure plate transmits engine torque to the transmission input shaft by clamping the driven disc against the flywheel. The diaphragm spring applies a controlled clamping force to the pressure plate face; wear on the contact surface reduces effective clamp load, leading to clutch slip under load and difficulty engaging gears. This component is manufactured to match the original assembly's spring rate and face geometry, ensuring the release bearing travel and pedal feel remain within specification. On installation, the flywheel face must be clean and flat, and the pressure plate bolts must be torqued to the manufacturer's specification in a crosswise sequence.
