This photocell monitors seed flow through the metering system of the grain drill. It is positioned in the seed tube or distribution head, where its infrared beam detects the passage of individual seeds or material slugs. The sensor sends a signal to the cab display, allowing the operator to verify that seed is reaching each row. A blocked or misaligned photocell produces a false no-seed alarm or fails to register blockages, reducing seeding accuracy. The original unit matches the housing geometry and connector pinout of the assembly it replaces, so no wiring modification or bracket adaptation is needed.
