This chain transmits drive from the gearbox to the metering components within the fertilizer distributor of a corn planter. It connects the rotating output of the gearbox to the shaft that drives the fertilizer metering rollers. A worn or stretched chain causes inconsistent metering, leading to uneven fertilizer application across the row. As an original component from the implement manufacturer, the chain is manufactured to the same pitch and tensile rating as the original assembly, ensuring correct engagement with the sprockets without requiring adjustment to the tensioner.
