With this in mind, the rescue chainsaw has been equipped with an extremely durable STIHL Rapid Duro R cutting chain with a coating made of impact-resistant sintered carbide plates. This allows oil consumption to be reduced by up to 50%. When replacing the cutting set, a practical sprocket cover nut with anti-loss protection is used. The lighter, narrower and flatter sprocket cover reduces effort when limbing and supports efficient chip evacuation. The decompression valve makes starting the device easier. Opening the valve during start-up allows part of the compressed mixture to be released from the cylinder. After switching off, thanks to the STOP function, the control lever automatically returns to the working position. This allows the machine to be restarted immediately.
