This O-ring seals the interface between the front drive housing and the differential assembly, preventing lubricant loss and keeping contaminants out of the axle system. It sits in the groove machined into the mating face of the front axle housing. A degraded or flattened O-ring causes oil seepage at the joint, which can lead to reduced lubrication of the differential gears and eventual bearing damage. As an original AGCO component, the O-ring is molded to the specified cross-section and durometer so it compresses to the correct fill ratio in the groove, maintaining a positive seal under normal operating pressures. When reinstalling the front drive assembly, clean the sealing surfaces and fit the new ring without twisting it in the groove.
