This engine speed sensor monitors the rotational speed of the crankshaft or camshaft and sends the signal to the engine control unit. It is mounted on the engine block, where it reads a target wheel or reluctor ring. The control unit uses this signal to determine injection timing and fuel delivery. A failing sensor can cause erratic idling, stalling, or a no-start condition. As an original AGCO component, the sensor body and connector are molded to match the housing geometry, ensuring the correct air gap between the sensor tip and the target wheel is maintained without shimming. When replacing, clean the mounting bore and tighten the retaining bolt to the specified torque.
