This disc blade cuts through crop residue and surface crust to create a clean furrow for the following seed or fertilizer opener. It is the rotating cutting element on a disc harrow or seedbed preparation implement, mounted on a hub or spool that transfers downward force from the frame. The blade's edge wears progressively during operation; a dull or chipped blade increases draft force and leaves an uneven slot, which can cause poor seed-to-soil contact in the following pass. The manufacturer machines this plate to the original profile so that the bolt pattern aligns with the hub without requiring additional spacers.
