This reinforced metal-rubber shock absorber dampens vibration and impact loads transmitted through the threshing mechanism of the parent combine. It is installed between the threshing drum or concave assembly and the machine frame, isolating the chassis from cyclic forces generated during crop processing. A worn or collapsed absorber allows excessive vibration transfer, which reduces threshing efficiency and accelerates wear on bearings and drive components. The reinforcing construction maintains the original compression and rebound characteristics of the assembly, preserving the damping rate that the threshing unit was designed to operate with. On replacement, inspect the mounting bores for ovalization and torque the retaining fasteners to the specification for the host machine.
