JAG - 73-176.01 - Fendt Cylinder Head Gasket

This cylinder head gasket seals the combustion chamber between the engine block and the cylinder head. It prevents the escape of compression gases and the leakage of coolant and oil into the cylinders. A failed gasket allows cross-contamination between these fluids, leading to overheating, loss of compression, and eventual engine damage. The gasket is manufactured to match the original sealing surface geometry and crush profile, which ensures proper clamping force when the head bolts are torqued to specification. On reinstallation, clean both mating surfaces thoroughly and replace the head bolts if the manufacturer specifies single-use fasteners.
