This rubber shock absorber dampens vibration between the disc-harrow frame and the gang assembly. It compresses under impact loads from the discs, reducing peak forces transmitted to the main chassis and protecting the mounting brackets from fatigue cracking. Over time, the rubber compound hardens and loses its ability to absorb shock, leading to increased frame vibration and accelerated wear on adjacent pivot points. The original Mandam part matches the durometer and shape of the factory-installed unit, so it seats correctly in the retainer without requiring shims or adapters.
