This left-side moldboard strip is the wear surface on the plow body that turns and fractures the furrow slice. It bolts directly to the plow body frame and works in conjunction with the right-side strip to form the complete moldboard surface. As the plow moves forward, the strip shapes the soil flow and controls the inversion pattern. Wear on the strip changes the curvature of the moldboard, which reduces furrow uniformity and increases draft force. The strip uses two mounting holes to secure it to the body; replace the mounting bolts if they show corrosion or elongation.
