This housing and bearing assembly supports the rotating shaft of the threshing mechanism. It positions the shaft relative to the concave and drum, maintaining the correct clearance for efficient crop separation. A worn bearing in this assembly allows shaft deflection, which can cause contact between the drum and concave, leading to mechanical damage and reduced threshing quality. The housing is machined to the same bore tolerance as the original assembly, so the bearing seats correctly without additional shimming. On reinstall, ensure the housing bolts are torqued to specification and that the shaft rotates freely before reassembling the drive components.
