This fuel filter element removes particulate and water from the fuel supply before it reaches the injection system. It sits in the primary fuel line between the tank and the lift pump, where it protects the high-pressure components from abrasive contaminants. A clogged element restricts fuel flow, causing power loss and erratic engine operation under load. The manufacturer produces this element to match the original housing's seal geometry and bypass-valve cracking pressure, so a fresh element restores the correct flow restriction and filtration rating. On replacement, drain any water from the housing bowl and bleed the fuel system after installation.
