SF-Filter - SL5661 - Interior Air Filter

This internal air filter element captures airborne particulate before it enters the engine intake system. It is the secondary element, installed inside the main (external) filter housing. The main filter handles the bulk of the debris; this inner element acts as a safety barrier, protecting the engine if the outer filter is damaged or improperly seated during service. A compromised inner filter allows unfiltered air to bypass the main element, leading to accelerated engine wear. The manufacturer specifies this element to match the seal geometry of the housing, ensuring a proper seal between the clean and dirty air sides. When replacing the outer filter, inspect and replace this inner element as well.
